Media Ownership
Tell the FCC to support female and minority ownership by upholding the ban on cross-ownership of newspaper and broadcast outlets in the same market. The FCC is proposing to loosen current ownership rules that would allow more media consolidation causing more harm to local journalism. Send an email to the FCC urging them to keep current rules in place. Take action.
Bill of Media Rights
Organizations and individuals around the country are calling for better media so members of the Media and Democracy Coalition created the Bill of Media Rights to outline principals to make better media. These principals are based on the idea that media should serve the public's interest, strengthen public discourse, promote civic engagement, be committed to localism, diversity and accessibility.
