Common Cause consultant, Sam Gresham, collaborated with Joel Kelsey of Consumers Union and Amanda Ballantyne of Free Press to promote our Media and Democracy Coalition agenda. In November, Sam and Joel submitted an op-ed that was printed in Cincinnati City Beat newspaper on the FCC’s media ownership proceeding.

On March 8, 2007, Common Cause collaborated with Free Press, Consumers Union, OhioPIRG, United Church of Christ Office of Communications, Inc. and Ohio Citizen Action to host a media ownership hearing. The hearing, which marked the first unofficial hearing with both Democratic and Republican FCC Commissioners in attendance, brought over 300 Ohioans to the Broad Street Presbyterian Church in downtown Columbus.
