A free and vibrant media, full of diverse and competing voices, is the lifeblood of America's democracy and culture, as well as an engine of growth for its economy. Therefore, it is absolutely crucial that our citizens be aware of and engaged in media policy.

We are working to stop media consolidation by halting attempts that would loosen ownership caps on radio and television or would allow cross ownership of newspapers and broadcast outlets in individual media markets, while also supporting policies that promote diverse, independent and minority ownership of media that serve community needs.
