What's New
The Media Mobilizing Project [1] (MMP) is leading an effort to save Philadelphia’s municipal wireless network. Earthlink, who built the network and contracted with the city to manage and deliver services to the city’s population, is pulling out of their commitment and have now threatened to dismantle the physical infrastructure of the network, estimated to carry a value of 17-20 million dollars. MMP organized community members and allies nationally to call Mayor Nutter’s office on May 21 to tell him to reopen public discussion about the future of the network before Earthlink takes the routers down. The mayor has not proactively supported the digital inclusion goals of the network, but his office was flooded with calls.
MMP and Temple University's School of Communication and Theater hosted a Public Forum on Philadelphia's Wireless Internet Initiative. See more details and join in here [2].

Center for Media Justice [3]
Recently renamed, CMJ was launched in April 2001, as the Youth Media Council, a Bay Area-based
youth organizing, leadership development, media capacity-building and
watchdog project dedicated to developing youth-led strategies for media
justice. We believe that youth and other marginalized communities need
the tools, resources, strategies and skills to become strong and
effective media spokespeople and advocates for social justice.
