The Media and Democracy Coalition is a collaboration of over two dozen local and national organizations committed to amplifying the public's voice in shaping media and telecommunications policy.
Early in 2007, the three organizations banded together to organize around a second FCC Ownership hearing, this one hosted officially by the FCC and held in Harrisburg, PA, on February 23. Beth McConnell, then PennPIRG Executive Director, was chosen to sit on the hearing panel, and hundreds of Pennsylvania residents packed the room to discuss media ownership and how it impacts their daily lives.
